Controlling of suction on your CNC
June 14, 2018On the front of your CNC router you will have 6 valves these are for the zones on the bed.
This is one of the most important parts of your machine. This is the area where you need to open and close valves for where you are machining on your router. When you have cut any material on your CNC router. This is known as chippings or swarf. If any swarf/chippings are trapped between your bed and your workpiece it will cause vacuum leak. This will cause a drop in performance. Using the correct length cutter for the specific job. for example if you are cutting 18mm MDF we here at CKJ use a 29.5mm Trend rotatip cutter.
Another good tip is to leave a small amount for the final pass, we say this as you are limiting the load on the cutter thus limiting the force on the final pass. On all software we supply, you have the option for tabbing, this is great for very small items by simply adding a tab that can be sanded off after a cut.
You can also do ramping this is a good way of cutting as you are not plunging directly into the material. This will limit the initial force on the cutter.
