The Best CNC Router for Cabinet Making

When it comes to cabinet making, a CNC router is an indispensable tool. However, choosing the right one can be a daunting task. Here are some key considerations to help you make an informed decision on the best CNC router for cabinet making, based on your requirements.

Bed Size

The bed size will directly affect the scale and type of projects you can undertake. For cabinet making, a bed size of at least 1200mm x 2400mm is generally recommended. Most of our machines have an even larger 1300mm x 2500mm X and Y axis. This provides enough space to cut large panels and sheets of material. In some cases, a smaller CNC router such as the CKJ-R12 with a 4×4 foot X and Y axis may be suitable and also benefits from a smaller footprint.

Budget

CNC routers can range from a few thousand to tens of thousands of pounds. Your budget will largely dictate the kind of machine you can afford. However, skimping on quality to save money could end up costing more in repairs and inefficient operations.

Our most affordable option is the CKJ-R13 CNC router which can cut full-size sheets, has a vacuum bed, and is available in single or 3-phase power options.

To ATC or not to ATC

A CNC router with an Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) can save a lot of time manually changing router bits during a cut. If you’re mass-producing cabinets, the Linear ATC CKJ-L8 will save you time and money.

Single or 3-Phase Power

Most domestic locations offer single-phase power, whereas industrial settings often have 3-phase power. Single-phase machines are easier to install but may lack the power required for heavy-duty tasks. Three-phase machines are more efficient and suited for industrial-scale work but may require a transformer if 3-phase power isn’t available.
